San Diego teenager charged in fatal accident

Motorists on San Diego roads and highways trust that fellow drivers will act responsibly when sharing the roads. However, a driver high on drugs or intoxicated is a hazard to every other traveler. When a driver acts with total disregard to the safety of others, the result can be a fatal accident.

Valencia Park husky owner shoots pit bull in self-defense

Dogs are often called “man’s best friend,” but in certain circumstance, they can become aggressive. For this reason, dog owners in San Diego are responsible for keeping their dogs under control and their neighbors safe from harm. Unfortunately, when pet owners fail to keep their dogs under control, their negligence can also put their dogs at great risk.

Judge approves $55 million settlement for medical malpractice

It can be extremely stressful to require a surgical procedure. Between the initial consultation, various tests to determine the source of the problem, long waits for results, preoperative visits, anesthesia, surgery, and follow up visits, the process can take several months to complete. Certainly, no one in San Diego or elsewhere desires a surgery that is medically unnecessary or performed solely to collect money for unscrupulous doctors.

19-year old woman killed in car crash with fire truck

A 19-year old woman was recently killed in a fatal car accident that took place northeast of San Diego. The details of the incident are still being investigated, but the 44-year old man who was driving the car that caused the collision insists that it was not his fault. The crash took place in the early morning hours when the man failed to see a fire truck in an intersection. His car collided with the fire truck which crushed the man’s car. The man was wrenched out of the car and survived, but his passenger lost her life in the fatal accident.

Birth injury leads to $5.25 million dollar settlement

In the United States, approximately four million babies are born each year. While the vast majority of pregnant women in San Diego and across the country have normal, healthy deliveries, occasionally problems occur. A child who is injured at birth due to an error during delivery may suffer lifelong development problems or other debilitating difficulties. Indeed, when birth injuries are severe, there is often no way to reverse the damage, and families must incur the stress and expense of a special needs child.
