Pedestrian accident claims must be taken seriously

Pedestrians who are struck by cars face significant risks. They are often injured by the impact of the vehicle. This can lead to an inability to work or live a normal life. Even if those effects are only temporary, there isn't any reason why the pedestrian should have to cover the costs associated with his or her injuries if the driver was the person who was liable for the accident.

Crosswalk accident fatality leads to $9.5 million jury verdict

A municipality or state agency can be responsible for paying damages to victims who died or were seriously injured due to road conditions that the government unit should have corrected or repaired. That was essentially what happened in a recent jury verdict that awarded the family of a deceased 62-year-old man $9.5 million in damages against the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in connection with a fatal crosswalk accident. The award came after a two-week jury trial brought by the family in San Mateo County Superior Court.

Pedestrian accident data shows how vulnerable we all are

Crossing the street shouldn't take an act of heroism to complete. It is a simple task that has unfortunately become a scary one too. All it takes is one driver to not see you or one driver to lack the attention necessary when approaching an intersection, and you've got yourself a terrible pedestrian accident.

California hit-and-run accident results in arrest

There are many different users of the roadways. Despite whether a person is cycling, walking or driving, each user should be able to safely utilize California roadways. Unfortunately, one man has passed away after police say he was a victim of a hit-and-run accident.
